I have been told I qualify for a loan modification and just waiting for the negotiator to follow up from B of A / Countrywide ( it takes forever! ) Has anyone had experience with a principle adjustment when your loan is modified? Our “starter loan” is now considered a “sub-prime loan”. We’ve been attempting a loan modification with Countrywide for over ten months and making no progress. But, our HELOC with HSBC is even worse. I live in TX and am declaring bankruptcy at the end of the month. I have paid my property tax but not my school tax yet. Can I include the school tax in my bankruptcy filing? Is California one of the states which holds me responsible for the balance of the loan when they sell my house in foreclosure? I own stock in a company that is getting ready to emerge from bankruptcy, with a new stock symbol. Will my stock be converted into the new stock symbol or stay the old symbol?
